Sports & Medical Massage

Our Sports & Medical Massage clinic can offer treatment to those who would like a general sports massage for relaxation and maintenance, or for those who require a full diagnosis and treatment for a sports or non-sporting related injury.  All of our Sports & Medical Massage sessions also include other therapies, such as Cupping and/or Acupuncture if required.

Our Sports Massage Clinic

At Concordia Clinic, we have a number of practitioners that focus on the management of performance, and the prevention and recovery of injuries

Our sports & medical massage practitioners prioritise the need to remain able to train, and help the patient adapt to the current situation.  They use diagnostics to help understand the issue, and use a combination of bodywork, massage, joint manipulation, cupping, acupuncture and electrotherapy. If needed, rehabilitation advice is given to ensure injuries heal properly and should not reoccur further down the line.

Advice and understanding is key to helping athletes recover quickly and efficiently.  Our sports therapists are well experienced, and have been working with top elite athletes for over a decade. This experience shines through and really makes the difference in helping the athlete to keep training and reach their goals.

Sports Massage F.A.Q’s

Below are a few frequently asked questions regarding our Sports & Medical Massage Clinic. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Do I need a referral for Sports & Medical Massage?

No, you don’t need any type of referral to book in for a sports massage with us.  Although we do deal with referrals, the majority of our patients just book in throughtheir own choice.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends…

Many people will just book in for a sports massage as and when they feel like it, whereas others may book in regularly such as monthly or weekly to help maintain their body through their training.

If a patient presents with a specific injury, we would usually advise to see them once or twice per week, and will advise on how many sessions it is likely that they will need. This will often depend on the type and duration of an injury.

How long is each session?

Each session lasts between 45minutes and an hour.  Occasionally this is longer, but we will let you know before hand incase you have somewhere to be!

Do you offer Cupping Therapy?

Yes, our practitioners all offer Cupping Therapy, and this will be offered during the treatment if necessary, or if it is something that you would like.

There is no extra cost for Cupping if it is wanted/needed during the treatment.

Do you offer block booking discounts?

Yes, we have prices for block bookings… If you are coming for treatment due to an injury, we do not often suggest block bookings as we may help you in just one or two sessions, and we do not believe in asking you to commit to more than you may need.

That said, if you feel that you would like to commit to a block booking, we are happy to offer that.

Our Sports Massage bookings can be bought in blocks of 3, 5 or 10.

I have a fight/competition coming up - can I get a sports massage to warm up before it?

Yes, we see to a lot of professional athletes and fighters during their training and before/after their event.  The type of massage that we offer will depend on your needs, and how soon or far away your competition/fight is.

When booking in, let us know the situation and we’ll tell you what’s best.

May I have sports massage if I am pregnant?

Unfortunately not. Due to the deep pressure of sports massage, this causes the release of certains chemicals and hormones into the Blood that you may not want during pregnancy.

We do however have a practitioner that offers pregnancy massage.
